*sigh*
Bush has to be one of the biggest political failures for this country ever. Not only has his arrogance caused a world situaiton where gas prices are skyrocketing here in the US the very election could prove disastrous for many if terrorists follow through with their success in Madrid, Spain. Listening to a former CIA director Odom talk on Nightline last night and one begins to wonder if 9/11 was Bin Laden's plan to push Bush into a situation where he'd eventually go on his personal vendetta against Iraq. Now that Saddam Hussein is gone were looking at a cleric controlled government to be taking over Iraq within the next 45 days. I have no doubt that shortly after the "soverign government" takes over than we'll be kindly asked to leave. And I cant wait for that situation.
Then it'll only be a matter of time before terrorists decend upon Iraq and turn it into Kuwait's and Saudi Arabia's problem with attacks against both countries in attempts to topple their governments that are not strictly controlled by the religion. Saudi Arabia monarchy is at risk and they know it as evidenced by their crackdowns and more attacks designed to hurt them. Eventually the Saudi's may beforced into the same situation their Patron ran into when he united the tribes of the area into today's country. And it's questionable if the world would sit by while Saudi Arabia goes through the middle east in a war of de-secularization but if there's to be any safety for anyone it would have to come this way where governments are ruled by laws written by the people in the interest of the people and not the religious majority. Otherwise we will face a area of people that are in the position to put the world in a lot of hurt and the second we try to "fix" the problem they could just blow up nuclear weapons on top of the oil fields making them near inaccessable until we can build robots to go in and get it for us.
I would ask you to consider Kerry as a replacement. You cant get the perfect man for the job most times but at least Kerry is not some arrogant asshole with a chip on his shoulder and only stands to profit from all his actions while in office. If you think that Bush and Cheney have divested themselves of their stocks in oil and such you need to visit a mental hospital. All that stuff is being held in trust and when they're through ruining this country to their monetary benefit then they'll be at the helm of their riches and laughing at us while we continue to struggle with thier legacy.
